Anyone knows of any good computer repair shop (that opens today) in the north area?
Yishun, Admiralty, Sembawang or Woodlands?
My computer cannot turn on because of the thunder that striked when
heavy rain. I already verified there isn't problem with the power
supply so I'm going to send it for repair. Need it for my job. :(
Raraken should be able to serve you better.
May I ask, just out of curiosity, how is it that you have verified that it is not a fault with the power supply?
Is the computer in question a laptop PC or a desktop PC?
1. Check that the fuse in the powercord have not blown, the main switch's fuse, etc. cos if it is blown, no bbetter psu wiilll woork
2. Look at the other components and search for capacitors thhat looked bloated, if there are, thn you know where had gone wrong
3. In a powersurge, most of the time(base on what ihave heard, never reallly experience much in my life), it is the powersupplly of the motherboard. Even if the powersupply fan stilll spins, it does not mean it is working perfectly, as it could be othher components inside the powersupply that is friied(like other power rails)
Try taking out componnemts and start the computer without them, like starting the coompputer withh only one piece of ramm, use the oonboard graphics instead of the graphics card.
I got a colleague's friend living near admirality to assist your IT needs in future. If you need his number you can drop me an email.
When you power up the CPU, is the power supply behind moving? based on my experience, i would suspect that the motherboard burned. I do involved in IT Support, but charges onsite incurs.
Getting a motherboard nowadays is rather cheap to go by, you can email me for details at [email protected]
I operate my own IT support business serving many SME clients.

Without proof don't jump to conclusions.
And unless you can provide pictorial evidence of the fact that you run a business, don't mislead others.
