Okay folks first of all i have set-up my IIS to host a web-server on my PC, however, that only seemed to work within my house.....
My other laptops are able to connect to my web page at 192.168.1.69 ip address, but when i ask my friends to connect, they seem to say that they cant connect.
When i read up on the internet, it seems that i have to open up ports? Is it a necessary procedure to open up ports? If so, how do i do it?

192.168.1.69 is your LAN IP address, so only computers in the same network will recognize it. If you wish to provide access to your IIS over the Internet (assuming you have taken the necessary security precautions), you'll need to find out your public IP address (which changes every time your modem reconnects), allow Port 80 (TCP) traffic on your firewall if you're using one, and port-forward Port 80 (TCP) if you're behind a router.
