Hi everyone , I'm new here and would like some help from the pros here . I would like ask for some recommendations of parts I should get. I don't need to have such high end parts , I would just like it to be able to play these games at above average - high settings smoothly .
Games : L4D2 , Combatarms , Crysis , Auditionsea , Bioshock2 and DotA
My budget is about 1.5k - 2k + (including OS) , so hope this is possible , wouldnt mind spending a little bit more , and if possible , please tell me a reliable store at sls which will be able to get this done.
bumps~
Wait till at night, The pros are busy i guess.

Ooooo. Triple channel? That's for i7 + X58. That's expensive.
Just use this:
AMD Athlon Phenom X4 955 + GA M790FXTA-UD5 ~$541
Team Elite DDR3-1333 2x2gb ~$172
Western Digital Carvier Black 1TB ~$149
LG DVD Writer ~$35
Seasonic M12ii 620w ~$135
Sapphire 5850 ~$419
Casing ~$100
Total ~$1538
Toss in the OS ($179) and monitor ($200-$300) and it's about $2k.

Then say so earlier! XD
You can have a 750 for slightly more cash, but you do drop good support for multi-graphics solutions. As I said, refer to the thread in my earlier posts. That thread was purpose-built for these sort of things.

hm... if i up my budget to 3k , any better recommendations? the ones in the thread u mentioned earlier does not sound too appealing... sorry for the trouble >.<

Define appealing? What exactly are you looking for? I don't really know how to help you if you aren't very specific.
Anyway, the systems there are just guidelines. You can swap out parts here and there to make your own.
Anyway, If you really die die need Intel, the 750 is your best choice. Other parts will depend on your specific needs. I, for example, choose parts based on reliability and distance from distro just in case got issue. Price matters too, but that is what you pay for.

im a little worried as if I swap out parts , i'm afraid there will be a clash such as with the case , power supply or the mobo not supporting the things that i change out. with a budget of 3k , will i be able to get the above mentioned specs with a Intel Core i7-930 with evga x58 SLI-LE mobo ? and any video card to recommend?

3k no problem.. inclusive of monitor?
graphics card can get 5850 or if u want to push it then 5870..
possible inclusive of monitor? if not then its ok , not that important , as for the video card , Nvidia or ATI? not sure of which way to go...

i would say ATI...
the 5850 and 5870 can handle current games at max settings (this depends on ur screen resolution), nvidia cards produce too much heat and noise at the moment so might as well get an ATI
oh okay , btw , any nice monitors / case to recommend ? whats the difference between 5850 and 5870 ? any noticable difference?

Case? What's your budget?
I would go for NZXT M-59. Good budget casing. Difference between 5850 and 5870? Number of processors/cores and clockspeed. 5870 is both faster and has more cores.
hm.. budget doesnt really matter , was looking at the CoolerMaster Mystique 632 case , seems nice. but am a little worried for parts clashing.
so with 3k , what's the best setup i can get? ( including OS ) if possible , monitor but not important.
All the games you mentioned aren't too exhausting on cards except Crysis.

My suggestion was merely that: a suggestion. You can mix and match companents with whatever you want. So go ahead, you can change that if you want. And about the PSU, you don't have to change PSU if you want to change hard drives. The PSU should last you 5 years. It's also backed by a 5=year warranty.

Quite some time. 3-4 years is my guess.
ASUS P7P55D-E + Intel Core i5 750 $560
Cooler Master Hyper 212+ $59
Team Xtreem 1600MHz LV CL7 $199
Seasonic M12II 620W $135
1TB Western Digital Caviar Black $145
ASUS EAH5850 $419
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OEM Edition $179
I can't find the Mystique casing on any shop's pricelist. Unless you have one. Yes, it will fit.
Monitor, I'm not sure. Go for 24" if you can.
