my fren got this Acer timeline x 3820 from poly show. apparantly his windows is windows 7 enterprise 32bit, but the sticker below writes windows 7 home prem OA. anyway it crashed so he has to use an external dvd drive to reinstall windows, so i lent him my home premium disc. however when trying to boot from the dvd drive, it says that operating system is not found. does anyone noe the reason why? his is i7-620M processor, dont think it shld have a problem supporting 64 bit rite?:s tks!
if it's new, just go back to the shop and kpkb about it..
it should be under warranty
your messing with it would void the warranty
Wah, 42 bit sia, got such thing meh?
Have you set it in the bios to boot from the CD(it should be named as USB device)?
yup i did, but it said OS not detected:s anyway my fren managed to recover it, but needs advice on how and whehter it can be upgraded to 64bit to utilise the ram.
If you want to utilise the ram by changing to 64 bit, the best way is to reformat
The OEM product keys will not be able to activate any non OEM installations (installations via any Windows 7 discs)
If your home premium 32 bit disc is non OEM product. You will be unable to activate the operating system.
Few questions
i think he was trying to install a kernel to change it to a 64 bit. hmm so in other words, he can only use enterprise? is his cd key only for enterprise 32 bit? how can he change to 64 bit for mayb, home premium? cos it cldnt boot from cd when i put home prem 64 bit in it, saying operating system not detected. yup it cld enter bios. but he managed to recover it already.
