Internet Affected When Residential Phone In Use

  Whenever my house telephone is being used, my internet connection become screwed up as in I will kept getting the "Firefox can't connect to the server" page.

  But when my dad/mom finish his/her call, I'm able to surf the net again. Is anyone experiencing the same issue and anyone know why is this happening?

  I'm using the Miobox btw.

  there should be a telephone filter connected to all your house phone. check that out connect one house phone at a time to test if any of the house phone is causing the problem.

  u need to fix a microfilter at the phone jack

  Try adding or replace a microfilter. The microfilter is used to split internet signal from phone signals, so that they do not 'interfere with each other', as far as i can remember

  A microfilter must be plugged at the wall jack like shown in the picture below(The rectangular box on the top right is your wall jack, and the device right below the wall jack is the microfilter).

   

  

  If you are just replacing the microfilter, you can ignore the instructions

  If you do not have a microfilter installed before, you can try the above method, however it is recommended to note down your current connection plans if the above connection plan doesnt work.

  This diagram is done in 2006-2007, no guarantees if it will work, but it still works on mine

  IT should be inside the red big box one

  those little plastic dongles - those are the microfilters.

  Thanks for the advice and help guys, Singtel sent a technican down and found out the last technican did a bad job. He didn't connect my modern as shown in the picture that MyPillowTalks post.
