my antivirus has detected a series of virus, i tried to scan it with malwarebytes anti-malware. but after an hour or so, the laptop will hang. i close all the other running programs on my laptop, but it still doesnt help.
thus, the scan by malwarebytes anti-malware was not completed.
js/exploit.cuz-2010-0806.....
c:\users\hp\appdata\local\micosoft\....
the above is the location and the virus name , i suppose
i am hoping someone can help me with it.
Your Anti Virus should be able to detect and remove it.
Do a quick scan first.
If results are nil or it hangs
Run Malwarebytes in safe mode.
Disconnect from the internet, and run the scan.
You could also have tracking cookies that are sending out and receiving signals. This would lengthen the time it takes to scan your whole computer.
hmm. how do i run it in safe mode? safe mode or safe mode with networking?
i try to disconnect with internet, but after an hour or so, it will still hang.
anyway. a quick scan shows no malicious item. i can still run my laptop normally, but my antivirus, will pop up the virus alert
Just safe mode will do.
To get to safe mode:
Anyways, when it pops up the alert, does it show that it is cleaning away the infection?
it will pop up a alert, then says it has already been quarantine. then when i look the event log , it is the same virus. like, 22 infected files, 1 clean.
so what does this mean?
If it's 22 infected files and 1 clean, that means 1 is disinfected.
Correct me if I'm wrong, cause I am slightly confused with it being 22 same infected files.
Anyway, try mbam (full scan) in safe mode.
i try a full scan using Malwarebytes in safe mode. but after half an hour, it still hang. it did not finish the scan at all. and i have force restart again.
I can't tell why Malwarebytes keep hanging... but we will do some checks first.
Step 1
Uninstall all CD emulation software, such as Alcohol, Daemon Tools, Starburn.
Step 2
Please download DDS from Bleeping Computer and save it to your desktop.
Double click on dds to run it.
When done, DDS.txt will open. Another file, Attach.txt will open after a short while. Please save these 2 files to your desktop as they will be deleted once you close them.
Step 3
Please download Gmer from Gmer and save it to your desktop.
Double click on Gmer to run it. It will start running a scan. If it detects rootkit activity, you will receive a prompt to run a full scan. Click No.
Note: Do not run any programs while Gmer is running.
Upload all the logs to Mediafire.
i was recommend to use superantispyware, should i just try using it?
Follow Mayi's method
she's an antivirus/spyware/anti roaches software of her own
when i was using the gmer, i got a blue screen. i suppose i click something wrong or something. after the bluescreen, i restart, and i did not run the gmer again.
may i know what exactly have gone wrong? sorry for the trouble.
You did nothing wrong. Try unchecking the Devices checkbox and re-run Gmer.
