I am running Windows XP on my PC. Lately, the PC has had intermittent problems. After a few hours of usage, the entire screen blinks at 1-2 seconds interval or square patterns appear. Upon rebooting sometimes there's nothing on the monitor (black screen of death :) ) even though the HDD can be heard running.
Wondering if anybody can point me the right direction for me to troubleshoot.
On occasions of rebooting I get the following message:
STOP: 0x0000007e (0xC0000005, 0x804DA0A2, 0XF78DE0C0, 0XF78DDDBC)
Is this a CPU, GPU or driver problem?
I will try to get a screenshot.
Many thanks.
Hey, my take on it would be driver issues.
Kindly update all your drivers and bios to the latest versions and see if the problems persist
maybe the graphics card fan is almost spoil. open up the cpu to check.
That's what I thought at first as well. So I had a look at the GPU, the fan's running fine. temperature never exceeding 55degrees.
I have never flashed the bios before since buying it 3-4 years ago. Maybe it's time to.
Tested your RAM yet?
Seems to me that something's causing a memory access violation. Can be due to faulty memory or driver errors.
while something is telling me that it is a HDD failure. i had this error as well when my HDD brokedown...now with someone trying to recover data..
Access the bios and do memory checks, hard disk check.
You can do this by pressing the corresponding key that relates to entering the bios or the configuration of the bios when the computer first starts up.
