yesterday afternoon, connected to m1bb on the 2Mbps plan . noted the downstream is @ 16kbps n upstream @ 7kbps.
Called up m1 and the reply i got was, m1 has already taken note of the slow connection speed for the m1bb users. M1 has made plans to start upgrading their servers starting early july and the whole upgrading of network will be completed by this year end.
The m1 CSO ask me to bear with the current issues and eventually everything will be fine.
i really wonder how true this is going to be ?
(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((
2010
well apparently almost 2year later, the problem has not been acted on by M1..
My connection at most times is upload 0 kb/s, download 0 kb/s.
If i am ''lucky'', i get upload 20 kb/s, download 10 kb/s hahahahahahah
1000 kb/s?? Hahaha in my dreams. Never seen that before .
Takes a longggggg time to open a page.
Really sickening and tied down to the contract.
Plus M1 used to answer the lines very fast, now must hold on an hour.
The lady who answered was super rude. Sucks.
Yesterday wanted to sleep early at 8pm after sending an email.
End up that email took 2 hours to create cos no connection. Sucks
ya....
despite being the pioneer in mbb, it has the worst connection and coverage...................
I cannot agreed better. I still find ST and SH's mbb better than m1.
me using singtel bom
the cheapest one tt is non student price
not much complaints but i now have a vendetta against all the Sing-XXX tt i may be switching to green when my contract's up in jun this yr

it took me 1 hour to be able to reply you. Today connection especially bad.
They should quit this area of business and pay its consumers penalty instead!!
Paying monthly fee but yet most of time cannot use, that is unmoral!
Using M1 too, also the cheapest 1Mbps.
Connecting ok, first few minutes of surfing ok, then super slow, almost like hang. Happens mostly in the evening up to midnight.
Thought maybe heavy traffic, then thought maybe PC kena hacked and hijacked.
Speed test shows 1Mbs download 340kbs upload.
IP address shows four different network address on various days.
180.129.xxx.xx
124.197.xxx.xx
112.199.xxx.xx
116.197.xxx.xx
I think they are doing something. Trace packets show route through Starhub, but not good enough, because sometimes packets shows lost.
They offer Power Deal to up grade to higher bb plan, but I did not accept, because thingking of switching to ST.

it is also slow?
so far, the green is the best among the other two
slow???
try getting connected first.
Another thing that further slows down an already slow internet connection is other programme running in the background.
See that your antivirus scan, your auto updating, backup, etc., is not running at the time you are surfing.
Change your setting for them to other time.

no matter what methods used, the damn connection is still damned. Horrible. Sometimes when the modem is plucked into the USB port, the whole p.c blackouts.
Scary. Imagine always seeing 0 kb/s, 35 kb/s, 51 kb/s (right now is 0 kb/s, hahahahha)
Are you using the Huawei modem?
See that there is no clutter around it, as the reception might be affected.
Sometimes signals at your block is poor. How is your mobile phone connection?
Check see how the speed registers

Yup the stoopid Huawei thingy, but my phone line is singtel de. Clutter there is none...
strange.. i gave my mom the orange stick one.. she can actually watch youtube stuff and pplive for hours.. no problems..
she's using a little MSI Wind U100
the same stick is used by dad who plugs it into the iMac.. also no problems with youtube..
