StarHub upgrades broadband
By Wendy Lim
USERS who surf the web on the go will soon get faster Internet access
from StarHub.
The telco will be progressively upgrading its mobile broadband network
to the dual carrier frequency technology which will allow for data
download speed of up to 42.2Mbps, double the maximum speed on the
current network.
'StarHub is excited that it will soon be able to manage even larger
volumes of data traffic and continue to support the highest HSPA speeds
available in Singapore, to meet the growing demand for broadband access
on the move,' said Peter Cook, Starhub's vice-president of integrated
network engineering on Tuesday.
With the implementation of the network upgrade, Starhub has become the
first mobile operator in Southeast Asia to deploy the dual carrier
technology.
The upgrade to its mobile broadband network is expected to be fully
completed by the third quarter of this year, said a statement from
StarHub.
