Hi all!
I'm using a X58 motherboard.
http://www.intel.com/Products/Desktop/Chipsets/X58/X58-overview.htm
The thing is, i have an old fan, that i want to connect to the MB, which uses 4-pin molex
connector. As you can see from the link above, my MB doesn't have the 4-pin connector.
So what do you guys think is the best way(cheapest also) to connect my fan?
Thanks!
1. You can connect the fan to the molex of your powersupply
2. You can take a fan which has three pin, and find out which pin is +ve, which pin is -ve
After which, you can connect the positive pin to the red wire on your molex, and the -ve
pin to the black colour wire of your molex. You can find a converter or manually connect
yourself
It is the best way i can think of.
Becareful NEVER to let the +ve and -ve terminal touch each other when not connecting
Sorry to say.
But i can't understand a single thing of it.
BTW,my fan is 4-pin and i only have 1 fan.(you mentioned 3-pin)
The fan connector on the motherboard is 3 pin, wheras your fan is 4pin molex
What im talking about is making this converter
One side goes to your fan, one side goes to the motherboard
Go to simlim and ask for a 3pin fan to molex converter
The one that they sell at simlim will look like this:
Notice the head may be different, so make sure u get the right connection type

This is VERY clear! thanks! xD
But sim lim seems a little far considering that i stay at CCK.
You know anywhere nearer that sells it?
No problem
You can try challenger or cyberactive, they should have those
Bring ur fan along, as i noe most of the connectors sold are meant for fans using 3 pin, instead of for fan using molex
The difference is just the head connection type
challenger has no converters. only simlim.
challenger is becoming more and more like ntuc.

There's a computer shop on the 4th Floor of LOT 1 shopping mall. It's just next to the entrance of the toilet.
Probably you can check it there.
