Best Free Anti-Virus?

  I used AVG until they decided to "upgrade" the freeware. It became so draggy that I had to dump it. ( I was using an old AMD processor)

  What is the best that you have used? What is best free anti-virus especially for slower processors found in netbooks (Atom) ?

  I support Avast. Ran fine on my ancient Celeron D, which Norton Antivirus seems to love hogging.

  Most protection or security freeware won't offer higher and full protection on all kinds of threats. Most importatnt thing is it will not clash with your PC setup and other programmes used. It also helps if you can have a couple of such freewares to help compliments what the other is short on. Of course wthout conflicting one another.
