I've got a Sony MSAC-M2 adaptor that works with my HP desktop PC, but when I try to slot it into the memory card slot on my laptop, it doesn't fit snugly and there's completely no response coming from the laptop.
Does anyone know if there's any way I can use to make the two work together?
Otherwise, what do I need to buy so I can transfer the photos on the memory card into the laptop?
What's your laptop model? Are you sure the card-reader can support Memory Stick? Some laptops have card readers that only read SD/MMC/(XD), not SD/MMC/XD/MS/MS Pro.
Errr!
I'm using a HP Pavillion dv3000 laptop.
On top of the slot, it's printed "SD.MS/Pro.MMC.XD" and my camera is a Sony Cybershot T77.
I'm not sure if they can work together! But if they don't, what peripheral device should I be getting?
get a card reader. your lappy's card reader doesn't support the card.

I seriously doubt that card slot supports your Memory Stick.
Get a USB card reader that supports Memory Stick. In fact, you might as well buy a multi-card reader just in case you want to read M2, microSD, CF cards, etc in the future.

ur laptop supports MS, but only MS Pro (the largest MS u can find). u nid to get an adaptor for ur M2/MS Pro Duo in order for it to be able to slot into ur card reader.
Hmm. Try and get a USB card reader, like the 15-in-1 versions.. Your laptop SHOULD be able to accept the M2 in the MSAC adaptor, but somehow it's not.
k la k la.. hehe, I'll go get a card reader :)
does anyone have a trusty brand to recommend?

I use MobileGear.
Just don't buy some brandless made-in-PRC card reader, and you'll be fine.
