Hello. A while ago, my graphics card was spoilt and i couldnt start up the comp. Then, i removed the card and had to change from using a HDMI cable to a VGA one. Everything was somewhat smooth until last night, my monitor screen hanged as i waited for a minute plus before i force off via the cpu. Then, when i on again, the monitors says no input signal from the VGA and my monitor wont lit.
I remember when i first install my computer, my VGA cable didnt work, but the HDMI did.
Is it my VGA cable causing the problem? Or some other parts in my computer caused this problem? Will the problem be solved if i switch to HDMI cable?
I dont have a spare monitor to try if my monitor spoilt ( i dont think my monitor spoil ) and i dont have a spare VGA cable to test too.
Please help, thanks!
Erm.. can someone please help me? :/
got LCD tv? try with that first.
Did your harddisk LED light up? Or only the power LED lighted up when you switched it on?
Take out your RAM and put it back, maybe it is 'lose'
If you are using more than one piece of ram, take out one and try to boot, if bootable, the one taken out maybe faulty.
Try it with the other piece of ram, to isolate any faulty ram
Sometimes it might be the contact of the ram have oxidised, take an eraser and rub the copper contacts and put it back in to test
To troubleshoot you need extra working graphics card.
Maybe a partially faulty powersupply will cause no display
However to me it sounds like a faulty graphics card
Agreed with MOD.
Take the ram out, and put it back again.
I also encoutered this too.
Okay thank you! It was the RAM's problem.
Either the ram slot in the motherboard is faulty, or i did not insert properly. And i switched slots. Now its back to normal, 2GB. Thanks mod! Now its new graphics card and a new casing.. maybe a new power supply too.

Well, either the sticks didn't seat properly in the slot, or the RAM is failing. Either way, glad you solved the problem!
And going on an upgrade, are we? :P
Glad that your problems are solved
