What speakers should are good?

  Hi, I thinking of getting a new pair of speaker. What would you recommend? Currently i have bose companion 5 and Creative Gigaworks T40 in mind, any alternatives? Basically for music only, i do not like heavy bass. 2.1 or 5.1 better? Budget would be $800. Thx

  Bose is POS.

  Overpriced.

  Don't get it.

  Get an Altec Lansing MX5021.

  One of the best things you can buy in Singapore.

  2nd this one. The MX5021 is pretty damn powerful (IMO anyway), sad I missed it when someone was selling his set :(

  I will probably go for Altec Lansing which is awesome through out the years for their sound system.

  i know altec lansing is good, i have 2 sets at home, but the bass is overpowering. Also, if i were to get a 5.1 system, will i be able to use it for stereo music? will it be better than a 2.1 system? or will it only play out from only 2 speakers.

  turn the bass down. there's always a bass knob there for that purpose.

  yea, i know but the bass is distorted, unlike those car speakers.

  There's a variety of speaker options, tech options, presets to choose from. (e.g Headphones, stereo, laptop speakers, quadraphonic and 5.1 surround)

  Tech(Circle surround II, TruSurround XT, WOW HD, headphones 360)

  Advance options are also available. You can tune these options to your needs like your bass, if you dont want the bass to be loud you can set it low. Speaker size *Hz, Output gains, SRS dialog clarity are also in the advance options.

  car speakers? distorted? i think i've heard more distorted car speakers than distorted MX5021's.

  are you tweaking sounds with your computer's in built equalisers?

  either you make small adjustments of up to +3dB, or forget it.

  don't boost 9dB on the 62Hz channel and expect the PC to output clean sound. it's just not happening.

  software enhancers are crap.

  don't mislead him by giving him the false image that good sound can be had from this cracked software and a pair of $5 speakers. not happening.
