Data error on external hard disk

  Ok. My previous topic have alot of unclear points. Now my question and help required is more specific. How to initialized a external hard disk that shows Data error (cyclic redundancy check) on both MBR(Master Boot Record) and GPT (GUID Partition Table)?

  have you ran check disk on it?

  Can't run check disk on it since it is not assign a volume like C: and I cannot access it from My Computer.

  I wonder.

  If you could go to disk management, right click disk 1 (which is the one with the error)

  1. click on properties
  2. tools tab and then error check.

  I can't. But I manage to get back my data using testdisk program. So now the problem is to fix the hard disk.

  Ok. I think my solution for now is use testdisk and try to reload and rewrite the MRC. Then half way, i manage to make that hard disk online and i manage to get it loaded by formatting it.
