rule of the thumb. for casual usage u can consider getting a notebook under 1K. unless you got specific needs. ask urself. do you need pcmcia slot? more USB slot? internal DVD drive? high battery life? high speed graphic card? if u got no clue, go to any neighborhood shopping for some ideas. good luck.
btw u can try funan center or sim lim square to check.

ASUS UL80vt. My sis has one, 9+ hours of battery life, and it has a graphics card too for occasional gaming.
ya Alienware but thing is, 4-6kg not fun to bring outside. LOL! yeh budget isn't a problem right now.

Get an ASUS. One of the F8's (I think) has a GT220M graphics card, 14". Or you could go Lenovo, my friend has one with a GT230M, 14" as well.
fujitsu got very good customer service, at least for me.
