Hi there, my computer screen has a problem. Please help.
The screen keeps lag, auto shut and few secs later, it auto on again. And would appear an ATI pop out. This problem happens more when playing 3D game (such as audition). Sometimes the screen would even lag and shut for a long period of time, and I have to off and on the computer switch. I tried to scan thru virus but none was found.
Only the screen keeps auto restart.
Please help me to solve this problem! It had been a long time having this problem, and i'm having a hard time playing online game ):
Thanks much! :)
Might be because your RAM is not enough and hangs the whole computer.
Send to repair.
Plus BAckup...
my guess, is ur graphic card.
Since the ATI screen pop out.

Hi MissyK,
Do you have another Monitor? You may wish to use it in place of your current Monitor and see if the problem persists.
Cheers.
My RAM is 2GB..
Could it be maybe is the settings is wrong?
Err no, I do not have another monitor.
This problem causes (example) auditionsea to appears lines. and maplestory to appears to be blinking all along. It cause nothing when playing gunbound :S
try download and install the latest ATI graphic driver for ur computer. if the same problem persist, it could be due to the graphic card that require to change.
Lines appearing(They call/pronouce it as artifacts) may be caused by software issue, did you overclock your card using the ATI overdrive in the catalyst driver software? IF yes, that might be the case.
If not, it could meant that you need to update your graphics driver(like what Playmemory stated)
Hardware side, an overheating Graphics processing unit/Graphics card(GPU)or a GPU with defective video ram will also cause artifacts, try to give your graphics card some ventilation while gaming and see if there are any improvements
If not, you can bring your graphics card down to the distributor for a check if it is under warranty
Graphics card malfunctioning. I had the same problem because I had an unstable overclock on the GPU. Overheating graphics cards will cause slowdowns as it throttles itself to a lower speed, and while they aren't too dangerous, they may damage the card if under prolonged usage where the chip exceeds its thermal design limit (Usually about 105C)

Oh oh, so what am I suppose to do now? I guess it's due to overclock of my card using the ATI overdrive. My mum did tried to bring the whole CPU down to the repair centre but the person can't observe any problem, as he though maybe is the game has problem. So my mum was ask to go home and try out other games. Realising that not only playing audition has problem, maple too. Now, she is busy to bring down to the repair centre :S

THERE!
Undo the overclock. The overclock is unstable, that's why! Had same problem with my old 9500GS running 150MHz over the stock clock.

get the right model of your ATI graphics card. you can look at the system properties or you can open up your CPU to look at the model number. After that go the manufacture website and download the latest driver for your ATI graphics and install it.

Simple. Reverse the steps you took to overclock.
If you seriously honest-to-god don't know how,
Open up ATI Overdrive (Right click on the Catalyst Control Centre icon in your taskbar thingy)
Click the button on the top-left
Select Overdrive
Move the sliders to the left.
There. All done.
