Hi all.
I'm currently using GeForce 9300M GS running on Vista and after a failed update on my graphic driver, all my games' resolution suddenly changes to 1024x768. (My actual resolution is 1600x900)
Some of the games I play do not have the option of having a 1600x900 resolution and they do not auto fit to my screen, which cause a bit of a problem for me while playing.
So, is there any way to change(or force) my games' resolution to full screen?
Any help is greatly appreciated. =)
P.S I tried to right-click the game icon > properties > and tried to force it to run in maximised mode but to no avail.

Hi Full.battery.life,
Perhaps you will like to try system restore.
Cheers.
Is your desktop resolution at 1600x900? If not, change it.
Anyway, I'm not sure why you would want to run games at that high resolution when your graphics card was never meant for anything above 1280x1024.

Best!
@TrueHeart: tried system restored but it's still the same. tried rebooting my laptop but still the same result too =x
@Raraken: it's not a desktop, its a widescreen notebook. That's why the graphic card is 9300M GS(for notebooks fyi). Being widescreen, the default resolution is 1600x900 fyi. Do you think I will be stupid enough to run games at high resolution unsuitable for my graphic card and come here to ask for help to rectify the problem i'm currently facing now?

I know its not a desktop, FYI. I'm not stupid.
And I know the default resolution. Either one of those Sony 14-inchers or a 16-incher. But here's the question: if it really doesn't affect your games, why bother?
Then why you said desktop in the first place?
Apparently the games do cause a bit of problem for me. Either they are too small in the middle of the screen and I have to squint my eyes or that the games auto shutdown. Frustrating though. Appearance wise, it's ugly too.
I'm a perfectionist and do not like my stuffs to look so ugly!

If you right click on your desktop, Personalize > Display Settings, make sure the display slider is set all the way to the right and that it is set to 1600x900.
Tried everything that I can think of but still..=x.
I think the problem is with my graphic card. I'm using a laptop with a hybrid set where I can change to 'Stamina' for long-term usage and 'Speed' for high performance, thus being able to switch between my graphic card and a graphic accelerator. So, when I tune it to 'Stamina', everything seems fine until I tune it back to 'Speed', which will then screw up my games.
If no solution is available, then I'll just quit playing those games. Thanks all for your help though. =)

Yep, it's a Sony Vaio. If warranty is over, I guess it'll be hard to troubleshoot. Then again, if you still had warranty, you would have sent it for servicing anyway, right?
