Hai guise
I am looking to buy a new optical drive for my PC because my old one died suddenly upon my return from overseas.
What are your recommendations?
My budget is preferably <$40
you can ttry getting blu-ray of DVD-writer. SInce i believe most of these optical drives can read and write not only on DVD but also CDs.
First see your PC specification first so we know what mobo interface port available, OEM? or if you need adaptors if newer drives are SATA based.
reminds me recently of one guy who call meto buy an old optical drive.say if he test can spin up okay but i ask him what is his PC specification details because the drive must at least be able to spin up on his system not mine
i did not extertain him further because he is the time that is worrying about "how arh if cannot work on my system". sometime i will ing to let go at only a few dollars.
so you see lack of knowledge, apparently and how much you know about such stuffreally affects the objective of anything you can do and achive, from troubleshooting, upgrading, and closing a deal.
you can try simlim - 40 dollars wuite difficault to get first hand, unless you get CD-writer or the second hand market buy and sell
samsung s223 22x dvd writer at sim lim - $34
that's dirt cheapp.
still TS need to known his own system spec.
If he board is not dino age has SATA port no additional cost for intercface adaptor required 34 plus transport fare that's less than 40
