erm just asking to comfirm the price to repair or change for a cracked lcd screen
i am using acer extensa 5620 hope to get the ans asap
thank you(;
If possible, check with acer if a replacement could be done if your laptop is still under warranty
Prices are not cheap.
I cracked my Hp business notebook series screen before.
Damage : $300 odd.
For that price I would rather get a monitor and connect it up via a vga cable.

shouldnt be covered by warranty, as it is accidental damage further more, exteriors are not covered by the manufacturer.
It depends though, ts can call and give it a short
Connect to external monitor via VGA is only good if you do not need to use the laptop in other places.
Perhaps can geh geh some excuse so that it seems like it is the manufacturer prob? *lol* (don't mention my name if this is successful) ;p
Really depends on where you get it done, and whether it's under warrenty. If you have lobang then it should be $200plus. Otherwise likely to be over $300. Alternatively, if your warrenty has ended, you might like to trade this for a better 2nd hand one. An average one would cost you about $$400(2.0ghz 1gb ram 160gb)Possible get xp pro, vista for laptop is terrible.

vista for laptops is alright if you know how to work it.
my laptop, 2.0ghz, 2gb ram & 250gb hard drive works fine.
the hard drive is more than three quarters full, but it boots really quickly.

how is the cracked screen like?
can you take a photo?
sometimes it might not be cracked.
@SBS7484P vista home basic is too lag, home premium is relatively ok. you need at least 2gb ram for vista to work well. but with 1gb ram, you could be running xp smoothly. Have you tried 7 yet?

I supposed you got it mixed up.
Vista home basic does not have any visual eye candy unlike the Home premium, thus, it wont lag.
Windows 7 performs better with 1GB ram.
Maybe its just me, but with the same specs, vista basic takes longer to open and tends to freeze for a couple of seconds while opening programs. booting up takes over 2mins unlike premium's 1 minute
Systems with Visa basic , most probably will be worser than systems that are preloaded with Home premium.
Unless, they are of the same specifications...
