Hi is there anyone out there that could advice me on what to look out for when buying a wii, currently what I've found out that some shops have been offering say Wii console + Wii Sports approx $340.
My friend told me to ask whether is there 2 controllers or 1? what version is it, US, Korea, Japan which affects the adaptor? But i'm still quite confused?
I'm quite lost here, could anyone tell me whats the average good deal currently for say Wii console with 2 controllers and wii sports? which country make is better and why the adaptor makes a difference? whether can it be modified? Basically what should I ask when I enter a shop and the price that I would roughly expect.
Thanks alot everyone =)
The price you mentioned sounds okay. Wii Sports is supposed to be freely bundled with the Wii. So it shouldn't be a factor in the cost.
The default bundle comes with one controller, a additional one might cost around $50. You can get the game Wii Play which comes bundled with a controller (ard $60) if the shop doesn't bundle in one more controller.
There are typical 3 version of the Wii:
PAL, NTSC-J and NTSC-U... Singapore official wiis should be NTSC-U -- same as US wiis, except the power adapter is for our 220V. You shouldn't need another adapter if you get the singapore one. There might be an issue with support in Singapore if u get another version.
You will also need to get games that are compatible with your wii (PAL, NTSC-J or NTSC-U).
All wii models can be modified, but nowadays heard Nintendo tries to make it harder. But new mod chips are being designed every now and then to counter. haha.
I am not sure which shop does wii mod, you can ask the shop you patronise. I got mine modded from a wii-modder free-lancer. Cost about $100++, hehe
Hey thanks for your info... yeah I checked around the price, its around $350, and wii fit is like $150. Currently left US/local version which is cool.
There was an offer 2 games + wii mod console with a controller, korean version @ $390. But I consulted around, sounds expensive. Oh well, the person said the modification is factory made? what did he mean by that?
I thot korean version should be cheaper. lol. Maybe due to the mod.
I do not know what is meant by 'factory made'. Anyway if you are getting your wii modded, good to invest in a mod that does not solder direct to your wii board. There are those mod that are 'reversible', can remove without any physical trace - good in case your wii got defects and needs to exercise warranty. Those irreversible mods sets will have no more warranty with nintendo...
