oh i see, 128 gb. Must be more than 1000 videos
If you really need a thumbdrive of that storage capacity, you might as well just buy a 2.5" external HDD. You can get higher capacity for lower cost.
I really don't see the point behind having a thumbdrive of that storage capacity.
many ppl misunderstood the meaning and purpose of a thumbdrive..
It's for mobility, to transfer (large) files from a system to another system or for short-term storage
it is not supposed to replace an external hdd
and for tt price, might as well opt for an external hdd...... with a lot a lot more capacity...
some ppl might complain the weight and size.... thumbdrive is smaller, lighter, easier to carry around...
of course, if u think u wan to spend tt kind of money, go ahead.

Hi Whatdatoot,
Pardon me for asking, but why do you need a 128GB thumbdrive? As fudgester has kindly mentioned, you can get an external hard disk drive instead.
Cheers.

Hi TS,
I hoped I am wrong, but I feel that you're acting on your impulse. Think through it first, $120 is not a small sum. You may end up making a sorry snap decision sending $120 on a plate into the hands of modern techno-profiter.

Yeah.... around 4GB should be enough for most people....
On my part, I just use a 2GB drive attached to my keychain to act as temporary storage or for easy file transfers between computers.... and it has never run out of space.
The only true benefits of a 128GB thumbdrive would be size and weight..... but even then, a 2.5" HDD isn't exactly a brick, either.
im still using a 256mb or isit 512mb nia......
and i use 7-zip to compress, if necessary...
storage.. i keep my photographs, ripped movies and music in portable HDDs...
moving stuff around i have a cheapass 4GB thumbdrive i got on offer for $12.90.. well, it was cheap at that time.. don't know how much they cost now..

almost obsolete!
Actually i will say get a ext hdd, upload speed from computer to the harddisk should be faster, and price wise also
I got a 16gb thumbdrive, because most of the time in school i will transfer files bigger than 8gb to and fro computers, so it is convient to use a thumbdrive.
And i dont wish to drop a 500gb ext hdd
A 8GB thumdrive is needed if you own or intend to own a netbook or to transfer DVD movies.
As the netbook does not have an internal DVD-rom drive, one needs to copy the contents of the whole installation disc(could be 4.7GB or more) of the software or game to the 8 GB thumbdrive and then install the software or game into the netbook.
Similarly, to transfer a 4.7GB DVD movies, one needs a 8 GB thmbdrive too.
I use my 80gb hard disk as a backup.
My 4gb for songs.
My 8gb for movies
My 2gb for small file xfers
Till now, I have not exceeded my 80gb hdd usage
I would advice you not to get a 128gb thumb drive.
For that same price you can get a fairly respectable capacity hard disk, times above the capacity of 128gb
it would be a hole in the pocket if you would by change lose it, due to it's small size.

ssd. ^^
You could get a 320GB HDD with better transfer speeds than that thumbdrive, though flash memory is shockproof. If you are prone to dropping things, flash memory tends to be better, though the time taken to actually saturate the 128GB thumbdrive will be absolutely horrible.
I still say, either a 2.5" ext HDD, or a standard 16GB thumbdrive. You really don't need that much space.
well if it's really small (pocket sized) and you don't carry a bag , and you need to transfer large files often , then why not?
But if you always have a bag with you , then you're better off getting an external HDD like what the others recommended.
If you have the need for it then it's worth buying.
nowadays there are online storage and online file transfers oso
For a poly business student, is 4GB enough to store an entire 3 yrs worth of projects, notes, data etc etc? Purely school work. Or should i take 8GB?

Hi granslime,
If you do not plan to have any video presentations, 4GB should be enough. But you may wish to consider getting a thumbdrive or a external hard disk drive with a capacity larger than 8GB, which can last you through university as well.
Cheers.
i think now oso not many 4gb stocks left
many shops stock min. 8gb onwards liao
