guys, my COMPAQ presario 3000 got some hibernation problem... its been almost a year with this F*CKed up problem.
whenever i use, RANDOM times, it hibernates itself. without warning or notify you. just POOF, black screen and i'll have to wait 2-3mins for it to off.
i've checked the power settings and all are off (Never), hibernation OFF.
I've sent HPSC for check ups but still got the same problem. anybody knows about this problem that can be solved? i suspect its the motherboard.
Another thing is, my screen has a HUGE problem. there is these lines...( like untelecasted channel, those thick rainbow lines) very irritating. only when i bend it 90 degrees or below, it has those thick lines flickering all around my screen. i mean ALL, whole screen has it. cant see shit.
i have to bend like 100 degrees then it wont have those lines. need help with these 2 things.
thanks alot guys for the help if possible :)
what was the response from HP regarding this hibernation problem ? Seems like it occurs not only to u .
for the screen issue , imo, it's a hinge issue. you will have to have it replaced at HP service centre. Have your hiberation issue sounded out again too.

In the search results list, right-click Command Prompt or Cmd, and then click Run as Administrator on the pop up contextual menu.If you are prompted by User Account Control for permission, click Continue.
At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:
powercfg.exe -h off
Type exit, and then press ENTER.
That will turn hibernation off permanently.
Type exit? lol
Just press the "X" at the top will do. xD
@ Sunwukonga

Then it's the mobo/chipset enforcing hibernation/deep sleep mode. IMO, the only way to disable this is to, well, completely delete the hibernation data files. This will remove hibernation, and will stop the problems permanently because now hibernation cannot be enforced because it doesn't exist.
Of course, if you DO need hibernation, well, you can't have it back.
Make sure you back-up all data before performing any changes to the core OS files. You might screw something up.
if u had disabled the hybernation. chances is the motherborad is hay wired.
as for the LCD issue. it could be the ribbon cable inside broke. it require to be replaced.

Okay so where's the hibernation files?
Is it some sort of virus or something? i've deleted the hiberfil.sys which disable hibernation PERMANENTLY but something got worse. Instead of hibernating, it shuts down randomly!!!
Help man this is serious.
