is this possible? If yr notebook is the conventional type and u want to replace it with microATX or netbook type of mainboard
Definitely not possible. Laptops have proprietary form factors, and the screw holes will not align. Besides, what about the I/O ports? Power requirements? CPU? I'm sure thermal requirements will prevent the CPU from working properly, even if you did manage to fit a mobo in. Same goes for netbooks, their form factors are different, and since the ports and connections are soldered directly onto the board, I can say that sorry, won't work. You are better off getting a replacement motherboard from the OEM, or a new laptop altogether.
ok thanks...
speaking of which, is it possible to switch a processor of a lappie to another and do a swap? cuz i wanna increase the performance for my current lappie..

It is possible to swap the processors of the laptops. It's pretty tedious though. Lots of screws, Covers. + You must ensure that the processors are of the same socket size and You have to get the necessary maintenance manuals + check if this chip is compatible with the motherboard (even though it can fit the socket)
Any Warranty is immediately void too.
If you would like to increase performance
- Ram upgrades
-Regular defrag.
would be easier options

hmm...thx for advice. tried to max out the RAM, which is only 2GB, sadly, and defrag regularly alr. i suppose the Pentium Dual Core T2370 and C2D T7200 are of the same socket yeah?

Wow, nice. Where did you get the CPU?
Ensure your chipset can support, then ensure thermal (TDP) requirements are met. They should have the same socket, Socket P IIRC. mPGA479.
Edit: Whoops, T7200 is Socket M.
Note: You cannot upgrade from the T2370 to the T7200. T2370 uses the newer Socket P, while T7200 uses the older Socket M.
seems like it isn't possible to swap the processors. is it possible, in this case, to change the hard drive over to the better laptop, and that windows can still continue to run? cuz i'm afraid that the Vista might not recognise some drivers..

Switching the hard drives is possible, if they have the same connectors and same form factor. SATA 2.5" drives are the most common. Windows will ask you to reactivate it due to the different processors/chipset. Reactivate and reinstall any drivers and you should be fine.
