hi all,
I have a colleague who needs to use warcraft 3 frozen throne as his teaching material.
I, as a support staff have to install it on the computer lab he's using.
Yes, I have one license (CD-key) for each computer.
After I installed, I tested it on a non-admin domain account, which is similar to the student account used.
It prompt me this messenger:
"This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator".
I already added the "authenticated users" to allow modify at the security tab of the warcraft 3 folder, but it won't work!
Please help!!!
Non-admin accounts have limited access to networking, core OS files and so on. It's not just the modify bit, because they can't even access some functions of the OS. Same thing happens to me when using school computers, and even things like Removing USB Devices are restricted.
I'm not sure if there's a workaround for this, because the functions Warcraft 3 requires might allow access to vital data, which is why MS blocked it. IMO, don't use non-admin domain accounts because they are overly restrictive. If you need to keep students in check, and monitor what they are doing, you can try programs such as Junglebyte Teach (Which my PS used) as they allow screen capture and remote locking.
Non-admin means?
Power users?
Normal users?
What OS?
