kana such a virus attack on your computer before?
Virus name is Win32Virut.
a very destructive virus which will destroy all .exe files in your computer. for what purpose i dont know.
yest i kana while trying to download a crack off some site i googled.
tried avg, kaspersky, avast, norton, non can fight that virus.
searched around for help, found that DrWeb will do the job, but failed again when i tried to use it on my com.
in the end, i lost the battle and decide to restore my com's factory setting, but after that, the com just doesnt behave the way it was before.
anyone had such encounter before?
if u gona dl a crack, atleast scan the file b4 u used it lah...
i download alr then immediately start attacking le, no chance given
i did not get to use the "crack" at all in the end, ended with a virus-ed computer -.-
but just to confirm, after i do the system restore, everything should be back to normal right? the virus itself wont stay anywhere in the com waiting for another chance to attack uh?
cannot use anti virus scan, non will "catch" this virus.
system restore doesnt necessarily 'wipe' the pc truly clean hmm...

use avg free.
start your pc in safe mode.
then scan. avg will launch the command line scanner.
use that one
alternatively
go to
start>run> msconfig > startup
look for some program with weird name, or sounds like its the virus
disable it from starting with the com.
restart, scan again
hope this helps
Kena Virut = reformat. PC is damaged beyond repair.
Recovery partition - I'm not sure if it will be affected. If affected, after doing a restore, PC likely won't work as well as before.
Best is to borrow a CD and perform a clean install.
May ask if Virut att computer onli if u DL a crack?

ok ty
Hmm , you shouldnt download cracks right off googled links .

i dont have a cd leh, neither do my friends have.
when i bought this laptop, no disks given.
but for lenovo, it have this one-key recovery system. i used that to restore, like this clean anot?
restore via restore CD is the cleanest way. usually those system that do not come with restore CD will required to create and burn DVD.
