just now l insert my psp into my new
computer...as usual, a disk drive appear...but l never go double click
it, instead l decide to scan 1st....so l proceed on to scan the disk
drive 1st, end up, my antivirus detect 2 virus inside and they are
The file 'F:\autorun.inf'
contained a virus or unwanted program 'VBS/Sasan.98' [virus]
and
The file 'F:\killVBS.vbs'
contained a virus or unwanted program 'HTML/Rce.Gen' [virus]
l choose the option to repair all and they went into my
qurantine...then l proceed to go to my qurantine in my anti virus and
deleted them off...
like that my com, isit infected with the virus already????
my antivirus is avira btw
These autorun viruses are quite common now.
If you want to be sure, insert another portable flash drive, remove it and insert it back.
If your computer was infected, that new flash drive will be detected with the autorun virus,
can l use back my psp and try again??? cos l dun have any other thumbdrives or flash drives to try out le
Well then it's okay. A simple way to solve this is to download Autorun Eater. Google it and you'll find the software.
It automatically scans all flashdrives / psp memory sticks when you insert it into your computer and if any suspicious autorun.inf files appear, the program prompts you if you want to delete it.
Hope I helped (:
P.S Yes you can use your psp again to test
but bro...l have avira antivirus le...l think that will help me to prompt suspicious or dubious files if l insert any device into my usb port , am l right to say that?
okie, l use my psp to try again
bro, l check le..l took out my psp and insert into my computer...nothing happens...l scan my disk drive again, and my anti virus detect no virus le
It should have already deleted the virus, but better to be safe than sorry!
Avira is a good AV, I think with it you should be fine. Just do a full system scan once a week. It's a good practice
haha den bro, why u ask me to be better safe than sorry...so now what more things should l do??? if anymore, pls do advise me...
ya...l did a full system scan quite a few times per week.
Because some AVs don't detect these autorun viruses. But Avira should be okay, nothing to worry about then as long as the virus is cleared before it has a chance to run and infect your system :)
hmm cos sumhow l scan the disk drive before l double click or open the drive initially...
that is when it detect those 2 files above...and l sent them to qurantine and deleted off...
and l have tried a few times plucking out my psp and inserting in, no problem at all..
If you tried several times and no warnings, it should be totally clean then!
Declared safe then, haha. Good night / morning, off to bed lol
