yeah.. getting that for some time now everytime i switch on my comp.
nothing bad is happening so far tho.. everything on my comp is running smoothly.
but shud i be worried/fix it?
Until you dual boot, there shouldn't be any issues.
It's fixable, if you want to fix it.
Will need to see your boot.ini.
Click on Start > Run and enter in notepad C:\boot.ini
Press Enter. Boot.ini will open. Copy and paste the contents back to this topic.
it says cannot find the file leh..
Windows is installed in C drive?
Here is a sample boot.ini file look like
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect
The above could be different for different machines and OS.
Let's try the simplest solution first.
Go to C:\Windows\pss folder.
See if you can find a file named boot.ini.backup
ya windows installed in C drive.
found it:
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect
do i juz create a new boot.ini in notepad with these codes?
How did you find it? Where is it found?
Some questions:
1. Your version of Windows? Home or Pro?
2. How many partitions you have?
