Hi all,
Just gotten an ACER netbook from SingNet.Am intending to upgrade the warranty to 2GB as the $89 quoted by Acer is too ex. IMHO.Are all DDR2 for notebooks compatiable or what?Hope you guys can recommend me some.Btw...any idea how to go about doing a backup CD for the netbook? As it doesn't come with a recovery CD etc. Many thanks!
i suppose this netbook u've got is Aspire One D250. it can support a max of 2GB of RAM, but just on a single memory module. the best memory module would be of DDR2-667, and it costs around $35 to $40 to buy one @ Sim Lim. and yup, the netbook RAM are the same as notebook RAM, SO-DIMM type.
now regarding making a recovery disc. you'll need a external CD/DVD Drive, since there is no optical drive available on this netbook. can also get @ Sim Lim, for above $100. this i'm not very sure, MyPillowTalks could answer more about this. (i've never done any single backup in my life before...)
For back-up, there really aren't many utilities. I prefer 'ghosting' the HDD to a back-up HDD, so if got problem, replace, then 'ghost' again XD Like that I can have all my documents, OS etc.
