I am now experiencing BSODs this few times i tried to start up my laptop, running on WinXP SP3, and i just can't get into Windows. managed to get some codes from my Compaq V3144TU.
here it is:
***STOP: 0x0000007B (0xBA4CF524, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
can someone help me to resolve this problem? i have important files inside that WD HDD(120GB) from that laptop. now using my Spare Extensa 5620Z. Pillow, what can i do?
Not very good at software trouble shooting
It could be that the boot sector is infected with a virus? if judging from this article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/324103
What did you do before the bsod? did u add a new hardware of something? Or install any driver?
You can try to press F8 and try to boot into safemode. From there backup your important files into another storage device first
If you can boot into safe mode, try to run ur antivirus for a scan.
Need to wait for someone who is good in this to reply liao
ok. i tried booting into safe mode, but just can't get past the Windows XP splash, then it just restarted with a BSOD. didn't install new hardware nor software before the bsod came.
I really don't know liao.....
It could be a corrupted windows xp
Another way may be to put in the windows xp cd and choose repair windows
Or if u have c and d drive, u can reformat the c drive only.
Some times it could also be just a failing ram or something
but is it possible to do a data recovery from that HDD? cuz i'm afraid i might want to get a new HDD with bigger storage and then put the files inside the new HDD, but copying those files to another external HDD. can't be a failed RAM cuz i am now using the 2GB RAMs from the Compaq on my Acer. now i wonder how am i gonna settle the problem...
Just unplug your hdd and place it in a external hdd case and transfer the data using another computer lor.
