As we already know, Apple released their official iTunes 8.2 ipdate recently. It’s big news for iPod users because this new launch of iTunes 8.2 can be a sign
that iPhone OS 3.0 will be released to public soon considering iTunes 8.2 is equipped with support for iPhone OS 3.0. However MuscleNerd from iPhone Dev-Team member suggest not installing it this time if you plan to jailbreak your iPhone. iTunes 8.2 messes up jailbreak stuff! While iTunes 8.2 adds support for iPhone 3.0 godness, it strips iPhone off all the jailbreak exitment! Apple changed some protocols in Mobile Device framwork which result in panic-code amongset the jailbreak community!
“Today’s iTunes 8.2 update changes the way you comuputer talks to the device”. This affects many Ipod three party applictions like iPod to computer transfer,iTunes transfer and etc when they try to identify what’s connected.
So jailbreaker, for now hold off the update of iTunes 8.2 and use the lower version of iTunes to jailbreak.
And if you have fortunately already made an iTunes 8.2 update, you’ll find that you can’t jailbreak any more. So the best way to this isuue is downgrading iTunes if you want to continue your former accessibilities.
I believe you now can cause dev-team had already released the tools needed to jailbreak iphone (2G - 3G) & ipod touch (1G & 2G) 3.0 firmware. Since iTunes 8.2 is needed, I assume you can now safetly upgrade.
Mac users your have redsn0w & pwnagetool to choose from (jealous...)
