wireless@SG not bad. aiya, simple surfing can la. lol.
i usually use to chat with friends or do homework also. haha, always use at macd.
later going macd, so will use wireless@SG, but the downside is, sometimes can get DC, but yah, free mah, what you expect xD
btw, what's the speed for the wireless@SG?
Currently is 512kbps but will be increase to 1 mbps. Check this interesting PDF from IDA, I noticed something quite amusing.
Are they being stupid or what, they expect a quater of a million ppl to sign up for this only?
> Number of subscribers far exceeded original target of 250,000
u think so many ppl got laptop to pose at starbarks?
But I think they didn't expect the netbook market to explode... so that's why they are expecting about 250K people to sign up.
I just feel that if you really want to give free WiFi for the whole country. You should at least have a proper infrastructure that at least support 1 - 2 million people and not a quater of a million. I also remember that the news claimed that it was pushed out for the whole country, don't see it specially target a specific group of people.
Off topic a little, what's wrong with explosion of netbooks, I don't see the use of a laptop which is even slower than P4. Yes it is cheap but don't tell me P4 is not cheap.
im replying to this thread now on my netbook with singtel bom bcos the wifi@SG here is LOW.... -_-
netbook is quite fast if u dun install too many apps on it
it's meant to be used for posing at mcd and starbarks.... only...
Now at Starbucks opposite Hyatt ... connection is good ...

Nothing is wrong with that, I only said that the government, with their very good foresight, just failed to predict that the netbook market would explode, resulting in today's predicament.
Anyway, I assume that the government knows now, so they should be doing something about it (free wifi).
