If anyone one of you who has an iPhone already running OS 3.0, you'll agree with me that this is one of the best firmware updates, EVER.
I downloaded the 3.0 GM firmware file over torrent and installed it 5 days ago. Everything is running smooth and nice. Some screenshots.
Noteworthy new feature - Voice Memo. You can even trim your recorded voice memos.
Another noteworthy new feature - Spotlight search. This is the best search function I've ever tried, period. Lightning fast and accurate, even better than Window's search function.
Cut, Copy & Paste, finally!
Delete multiple photos in one go, also finally!
Landscape Mail with the excellent big qwerty keyboard.
Stocks with landscape too, for a more accurate graph. Using two fingers, you can calculate the price difference and percentage between that two yellow sliders.
And also landscape mode for Messages! So that you can utilise the big and excellent qwerty keyboard. Notice the camera icon beside the text window? Yes, MMS is here finally as well.
And you can also finally delete individual SMSes and forward SMSes.
Than you are some lucky people? Lol. I tried doing it on my ipod touch as a test drive. It fails hard.

Yes, redsn0w is officially available. It can be used to jailbreak both iPhone 2G and 3G.
BUT, when jailbreaking iPhone 2G with redsn0w it will unlock the phone at the same time using bootneuter. It won't unlock iPhone 3Gs though, because the OS 3.0 upgraded 3G's baseband again, rendering bootneuter useless.
But I don't think that will bother most of us with iPhone 3Gs because I guess we all got it from SingTel, and it's already unlocked when it's new.
But for those weirdos that actually imported a locked iPhone 3G to use in Singapore, jailbreaking it using redsn0w will lock back the phone. Then you'll have to download ultrasn0w (the unlocking programme) via Cydia to unlock it again.
Ok so wat is the website? Can give me?

Ohh thanx i have the website liao..
Hmm, but if I upgrade to 3.0, my current calendar notes and contacts etc will be gone? Any ways to backup calendar and contacts?
I thought when you request iTunes to backup, it will automatically create all your notes & contacts backup. Than after updating, it will use back the backup. I actually prefer to backup than restore the firmware when updating, than after that when I connect it will ask me to set-up as new or restore from backup.
Anyway 3.1 is coming soon.
Apparently, according to my friend (Cuz I don't have iPod Touch/iPhone), 3.0 adds Bluetooth. How the hell did it even get that? Anyone wanna confirm?
Bluetooth only works for iPod Touch 2G & iPhone 3G/3G S user. The iPod Touch's bluetooth chips comes from Nike+

OS 3.0 doesn't ADD bluetooth, but rather it ADDS additional functions that you can use with bluetooth.
For example, you can now do Internet Tethering via Bluetooth.
And you can finally use stereo bluetooth headphones because Bluetooth in iPhone 3G/3G S finally supports A2DP.
And you can also play games with your friend if he/she also has an iPhone and the same game, say maybe Tap Tap Revenge. Last time to play together, both of the users have to be connected to the same WiFi network to play together. Now with bluetooth connectivity, it bypasses that.
All these I've listed applies to the iPhone 3G and 3G S, not the iPod touch 1st-gen. The iPod touch 2nd-gen will get its bluetooth activated too, so it'll have Nike+, and bluetooth gaming and A2DP support.
