Didn't hear of such brand before...
Sager is pretty well-known in the US, especially among gamers.... they sell some of the highedt-spec laptop in the market...
one problem with Sager, is that even SG Cube Hub can help u do some minor fixing, u need to ship the laptop back to US if it needs some major operation to fix a problem...
i suggest Dell Studio 15 instead...
Well, Sager, Clevo, they are excellent laptops, mainly for enthusiasts for their DIY, FULLY upgradeable hardware (Yeah, like me). But, as astria said, they need to be shipped back to US, Taiwan if the product requires massive repairs.
ok... .. I guess I will prefer mass market ones instead... lol... paiseh...

Well, one man's meat is another man's poison.
So, decided on a laptop yet? A 15 incher, perhaps?
I am considering the HP one that I posted at the end of page 2. Looking forward to this thurs' PC Show to view more models.... ;)

Then I might be seeing you around. Yeah, the dv4 is pretty good, but hope you get a 64bit OS with that. For that price, I'd say go for it.
Thanks... can't wait for thurs to come...
Tmr shall be the day...
try taking a look at Lenovo's Y430 or Y450
good pricing, good specs, maybe can consider, i'm using Y430 myself, so so lar on the performances, guess the only thing i dont really like is the battery life span, other than that, overall not bad.
but just that, lenovo is a china brand, i dont know how much confident you have for it, honestly speaking, i dont have much confident for it myself, but looking at the pricing that time, and the spec, simply just caught me into it, lol
oh ya 1 more thing, for the Y430 one, it's 32bits not 64 though
a few pics of it,

Err... after much walking round and round the exhibition hall today... I have bought the HP one that I mentioned in Page 2. I find it value-for-money and being a noob in IT, I feel that's the best for me liao.
Haha.... tried out the laptop and it's going pretty smoothly... hope it doesn't create too much problems for me...

Good for you! Any warranty offers? HP has some good warranties, and it's more likely you'll need it since they overheat easily. If it does get hot, a cooling pad should do.
Oh... it comes with 1 year international warranty plus 2 years local warranty ... free
I also bought a bundle containing earphones, cooling pad, optical mouse and screen solution for $31 add-on.... they aren't hp brand but I feel it's still cheap...
The only problem now is... it loses battery life pretty fast though... I think the battery can hold for only 2 hours.
I wonder if this applies to most laptops nowadays?
Well it depends alot on the company's technology, for example Apple's laptop, surprisingly having the exact same specs as yours except the RAM which their is DDR3 & it is 15 inch, it offers up to 7 hours. But than back to Windows world, I think Acer got a better deal.
Intel C2D P8600 - 2.4Ghz
Vista Home Premium
Nvidia Geforce 105M (~2.3gb Turbocache & 512MB dedicated RAM)
3GB DDR3 (upgradable to 4gb I think)
320GB
14 inch with 3.2 hours of battery life
High Def Webcam & Dolby Home Theatre
I don't know much about the quality of Acer & whether what they said about the battery life is true but the specs seems very good to me, considering that it got better RAM, graphics card & battery life for $1298 (after instant cash off, list price $1498).

The specs of this laptop are similar to mine, with the exception of RAM, CPU and HDD. I'm guessing this is the Acer Aspire 4937G-863G32Mn (Just a guess hor) And yes, it should get 3.2 hours. I sometimes get 3.5 hours, but usually about 3 - 3.2 hours. Quality wise, build quality is quite good, sturdy. Doesn't flex much.
