Hello all,
I do not know if I am posting this in the right forum, and if I am not, I apologise beforehand. Now my problem is that windows live messenger hangs whenever I start it up. It has been happening for the past 3 days.
Whenever I start up windows live messenger, within a few seconds, or when I open a chat channel, the programs hangs itself. After I terminate it and restart the program, it gives me the error code 80071392, with the messenge "we can't sign you in to windows live messenger as the service is temporarily unavailable."
I have already tried restarting my computer, repairing the program and flushing the DNS cache, but to no avail as the problem still persists. I have also tried to reinstall the program, but it only gave me the option to reinstall windows photo gallery and mail. I have also attempted to look for it to delete it through add or remove programs, but the closest thing I could find was windows live essentials, which only consisted of the two I stated above. I have already looked up the error code in MSN, but they did not have any help for that.
I run on Windows XP home edition, and the latest update I installed for windows live messenger was messenger plus!, but that was a month ago. This problem has never occured to me before, and as such I am clueless as to what to do next. Please advice.
Thanks for reading,
Music-life

Check your computer time and date. Are they correct?? If not, correct them first then try login again.

try asking help from the msn live team. they should be able to help you more.
Checked the time and date, they are correct. And the problem has been fixed after I reverted back to an older version yesterday. Thanks for the reply thought people!
