My desktop CPU fan has been very noisy for like er, 1+ year I guess, lol.
Everytime i perform a task or something, the fan will be damn noisy.
When i leave it there without executing any tasks (like just leave it there without even opening any programs or music player), the fan will also make noise.
The noise will take like 10 seconds or more. Then when i leave my com on and go to sleep, the noise is damn loud until i can wake up.
Very scary la. But the noise really will make you very dulan until you feel like smashing your computer lor.
What should i do? I heard that i need to open the CPU cover and clean the fan, but im not good at such things, im afraid i will screw my CPU.
But is it really the cause of the dirty fan?
Anyway my desktop is like, 3yrs+ old, if this helps.
yup, clean the fan blades with dry cotton buds or use those mopping magic-clean type of cloth
Rednano is right. clean the dust off the fans. or, the fan bearing might be kind of loose. you can get replacement fans which shouldn't be too hard to install. they're about 8 bucks..
thanks all for the advices, will follow i like to clean stuffs
but then one thing
hmm ok.. i have never open up the CPU casing before, im afraid i will screw up the CPU? haha

I removed my heatsink and flush in the shower.
Don't forget to apply heatsink grease when fixing back your heatsink.

Don't worry, ever heard the saying "旧的去,新的" (old one doesn't go, new one won't come), so the worse could happen if you screw up your CPU is, you get a new PC.
back up first and discharge your hands + switch off and unplug the comp.
anyway it's only the fan.....
msot probably shoulld be overheating
apply thermalpaste, clean heatsink and resit heatsink
