hey guys, sorry to have another thread.
anw, my laptop currently uses DDR3, and 4GB ram, but the start-up and when i browse around folders, it seems kinda lag, anyone knows why? or how i can check for the reason?
like example when i double click on Internet Explorer/Firefox, i have to wait for ard 2.5 secs for it to come out.
i think it has got to do with some kind of settings, but i know nuts abt stuffs as such, anyone to enlighten?
thanks in advance for any help =)
oh ya, window vista btw
is your performance on power saver?
ya it is
i tried switching to high performances also the same thing
hidden processes may be using up available system memory...
i dont think there are any hidden processes, this is a new laptop, that's why im kinda surprised that it behaves this way.

Sometimes its due to your processor speed. The GHZ.
then blame the brand
lenovo - MIC

it's 2.2, i thought ok de? ddr3
when i first brought this laptop home, it doesnt behave this way
Defrag your HDD, and brand-new computers are always fast. DDR3, it still depends on the RAM speed. Yours is 32-bit system, right? 4GB RAM also useless, only 3GB is used.
Defrag your HDD, check for hidden processes. Simple as that. 2.2 GHz is already quite fast for a laptop.

Uninstall programs one by one and restart after uninstalling. Check the LTop speed after restart.
start > run > msconfig > startup.
uncheck some unwanted shit like itunes update, quick time task scheduler for quicktime player, etc.
bascially the things u dun really need when u start the com.
also try defragmenting your hard drive, and also uninstall some unwanted programs.
a 3rd factor might be that your antivirus program has its 'resident shield' program on.
this means that the antivirus program might have been programmed to scan the whole computer once it runs, or that it has been programmed to scan a file when its being opened, or when a program is executed.
try disabling these options in your antivirus program if able.
if not, i highly recommend avg free anti-virus.
avg comes with scan on start and resident shield too, but you can select these operations to run at your discretion, as in they can either be on or off.
Anyway, Windows must reformat sometimes to clear the rubbish built on it.
i reformat desktop once a year :)
ddr3 ram is supposed to quicken up your laptop. (i swear by it that ddr3 ram out performs ddr2s in lots of tasks)
when ever you log in a welcome screen pops up.
Untick the welcome screen.
it will have a significant improvement.

That's because DDR3 runs faster. DDR2 SO-DIMMS usually run at what, 667MHz? DDR3 SO-DIMMS run at 1066MHz. DDR3 rocks, and my system memory is faster than my GPU memory
Do you think that i do not know about these tech specs?
So how much is DDR3 Currently? For both desktop and laptops
