Regarding laptop's internet connection

  i'm buying a laptop next week, so can i ask what must i do to enable my hse to have the internet connection for that laptop?
  
  i've a modem from starhub, which my desktop is currently connected to.
  
  & what's a rounter? (ps, dont know how to spell it, it should be something like this)

  now your configuration is....

  internet -----> modem -----> PC

  when your laptop arrives, you should have a router. and the configuration should be...

  internet -----> modem -----> router ------> PC

                                                          \-------> laptop

   

  if you want to use wireless, get a wireless router.

  just make sure you know what you're buying and it'll be fine. i brought my router from there too. you just need to ask questions before you buy.

  you want somewhere trusted, go challenger superstores and get.. although the price is a bit steep compared to simlim.

  make sure its not an adsl modem/router

  you are looking out for an ethernet router.
