Hey everyone .
I'm currently using a HP dv2500 notebook .
The temp is quite high when i'm surfing the web or doing light stuff .
Currently , the temps are
HDD : 50deg
GPU : 61deg
Core0 : 51deg
Core1 : 51deg
plus cooling pad and 1 stand fan blowing at it .
Anyone can guide me on how to open it up ?
Cause i'm not sure on how to and wouldnt want to destroy it .
Thanks .

Which components are you refering to "hot"? Because GPU 60+ deg quite common... so is the cpu
Eitherways opening up the bays voids ur warrenty...
try it without the cooling pad.
sometimes, the notebook may be trying to exhaust hot air, but the cooling pad fans are blowing the hot air back inside.. due to incorrect placement of the pad fans and the notebook fans..
as a general rule, hp laptops are known to be rather hot..
my dv2713tx gets really hot on gaming.. it melts plastics placed near the exhaust port.
lol my friend fell asleep with his ankle near his lappie..
he woke up w a blister....the laptop burnt his skin..so funny...
i have a IBM..using cooling fan...dun have any problem so far...the laotop is always 'cool'

Yeah... HP can run hot, even average models... but most fan design sucks air from bottom and exits through the sides... but that's just the cpu fan only
Are there any slid openings at the bottom of the laptop? Either align the fans to it or use something to prop up the laptop at an angle...

no slid opening at the bottom , only for the battery .
mine exits air from the back , no side .
i used before bottle caps
not bad though .
i just want it to be cooled even if i do light surfing also heats up .

painful lor, what funny. hahah.
anway IBM laptops dont seem to get hot leh. even on max performance, for the ibm laptops the teachers in my school use, they only get warm, nowhere near as hot as my hp laptop.
hmm, maybe its because those run on integrated intel graphics chipsets.. low power, low temps, fair enough. yet to try those lenovo/ibm ideapad with the nvidia or ati chipsets, see how they fare.
i say liao use dry ice or put in fridge

Lol... then bo bian lor...either use the cooling fan, table fan and bottle caps together or use on the floor lor.... marble floors can be quite cool... at least that's what my friend did with his acer with the same problem...
I like to sleep on marble floors. Very super cooling esp @ night
