NVIDIA® GeForce® 9300M GS Graphics Card with up to 2047MB of TurboCache™
(256MB of dedicated DDR2 VRAM)
What do they mean by the turbochache?
For eg,i play a game GTA IV or some future games in high graphic settings that requires 512mb of graphic card ram while this video card only has 256mb dedicated ram it can obtain another additional 256 mb from my ram sticks to use as video memory? does it work that way?
NVIDIA's TurboCache technology is a method of allowing video cards more available framebuffer memory by using both on-board video memory and main system memory. Main memory is accessed using the high-bandwidth PCI-Express bus.
TurboCache was developed as a means to provide a better cost/performance ratio by reducing the amount of memory modules on the video card. According to NVIDIA, a GeForce 6200 with TurboCache will perform about four times better than the Intel GMA 900. As with integrated graphics, the operating system may report a lower amount of main memory than is physically present when main memory is used.
So no, it should not work that way.
Your GRAPHICS ram and your NOTEBOOK RAM sticks are 2 different things.
woah! Good information
