Hi everyone, i currently have a laptop which i use for multitasking and all, but decided tt its time for me to get a PC so i dont have to heavily depend on my notebook.
Im hoping to get a build for net surfing, entertainment and also graphic design work. Lots of people have suggested to me to get a Mac but i've decided on a PC, because i might do gaming with it, but don't intend to get a high-end one because im not a hardcore gamer and also my budget isn't high.
Basically my budget is SGD 1k, excluding keyoard and mouse.
Any suggestions? Im going down to Sim Lim soon to have a look around, but im hoping to get suggestions here so that i have a better idea.

oh ya...the monitor. if add monitor, will be around 1.5k or so liao.
i dun recommend gigabyte motherboards as they tend to spoil and overheat easily.

Motherboard i think it is fine, however, for the cpu, i will say get the E7400. Reason is because the E7400 and E7500 are both 1066fsb and 3mb L2 cache, the difference in speed is 2.8 and 2.93. The price difference for the mobo and CPU bundle is $30 difference. Therefore, the E7400 is still more worth it
Ram wise, still abit expensive, 2gb ddr2-800 is selling @ $31
Windows Vista Home premium, walk around simlim to get better price
LG 19" @ $160
LG 22" @ $230
The set up above can be done cheaper. I think i can get it cheaper(working in sls also), PM me if interested

Nowadays Gigabyte motherboard seems more durable liao
The UD in the UD3 means Ultra Durable, their motherboard comes in 2 oz of copper, so is their new 9800gt gpu
Some Gigabyte mobos got extra BIOS. If one is damaged for some reason, the 2nd one works as backup. I think Asus also offers it or some other brands.
Save money buying another mobo. Hehe
my previous 2 gigabyte motherboard bios crashed without warning even though it has the stupid technology,
Gigabyte EP45-UD3 + E8400= $465
Kingston DDR2-800 RAM 2x2gb= $70
Seagate Barracuda 500gb 32mb cache = $96
Gigabyte 9800GTX +: $308
Samsung 22X SATA internal DVD-RW Drive : $30
Windows Vista Home Premium DVD (32 bit) : $145
PSU, i can give you antec truepower 650watts =$183
CoolerMaster RC-690 Casing : $130
The above will cost around $1427
I know above your budget(anyway cos we are following the above configuration), but u can come down and discuss one...
