Hi all,
I have to work on my assignment which is halfway completed, on my father's computer. I use Office 2003 on the windows XP OS. Recently he installed windows 7 on the computer.
The computer automatically boots up to windows 7. To use XP I have to restart the computer and when it starts up again I choose windows XP. So just now when I chose the restart option windows 7 froze totally. I turned it off or restarted it manually a few times but it simply goes back to the frozen "shutting down" screen. Even pressing F8 after restarting it manually does not help. I'm not too savvy with windows OS...I usually use my Macbook...I really regret doing my assignment on *#(@#^@ PC sheesh.
my assignment is due today, later, and I have to go to school at 10am. Dad's not really in the country atm so he can't do anything. Please help me! I need to get into XP!

You come to tech forum to give this advice? Its an 6 hour assignment anyway...no time to redo it.
1am now ---> 7am = 6 hours.

if you know.. you can try using the harddisc u do it in on another pc. but if u are using a harddisc that is formatted for windows only then too bad le la.. cause you got another 1 is mac right?
u can try to do it now..
btw wad kind of assignment i can try to help
Hmm, why not you just try on the PC, just select the XP option?
If it's not solved, get a Linux CD and boot up to it. Find the Windows XP partition, plug in a thumb drive, copy all your files to the thumb drive.
As for the Windows problems... I don't know what is happening. I haven't tried double booting XP with Windows 7.
