  I did not include the Macbooks as I won't be getting them. I'm most inclined to purchase the Fujitsu LifeBook S6420 given my budget of $1600.

  The S6520 looks good too, what's the main difference between these 2 models? Is it worth paying $250 more for it?

  Do you guys agree that I'm making a right choice?

  I'll be enrolling in an Engineering course.

  never ever EVER...go for acer. gf of mine brought her laptop to acer service centre 5 to 7 times a year...not only that, a friend of mine who is in rp but uses the same model had her monitor replaced at least 4 times, and her battery only last for 5mins without charger.

  Just a question, if I'm purchasing the Fujitsu Laptop from NYP, I understand it would be preloaded with Windows Vista. Can I downgrade to XP? Will it affect the coursework? And also, if it will affect my coursework, is it possible to have 2 OS on it? Meaning to boot on the Vista one for school work, boot the XP one for my personal stuffs?

  possible..but they have Vista preloaded for some reasons, and since XP is slowly getting out of the market (doesn't mean that it is unpopular)

  then you could dual boot, your OWN windows Xp Os with your preloaded Vista.

  acer gemstones are better quality.

  both similar specs except the S6420 has a 3D hdd motion sensor

  checked digital life today. the s6420 they are selling has much lower specs. than the NYP version
