Laptop is sluggish

  Hi all, wonder if anyone has any solutions or suggestions.

  for the last few days my laptop has suddenly began to become sluggish. even when i turn it on, the start up windows tune is stuttering.

  when i run the task manager. nothing much is running cept whats supposed to but when i look under performance, it runs from 50% to even 90% with no apparent reason.

  sometimes it hangs for like 30 seconds to 1 minute.

  I removed all my personal documents to an ext HD so theres plenty of disk space.

  have run AVG, ADaware, disk cleanup, disk defrag, nothing has worked so far.

  please help. ive run out of ideas.

  argh. worst thing to hear.

  first i dont really know how to do it and if it requires all the original software discs or something. i dont have them.

  You may torrent or buy the disc. Secondly watch how to reformat @ youtube.

  Download malwarebytes and run a full scan; be sure your avg is up to date and try running another scan.

  n my lappie is only like 3years old. now everyday just sit at home in air con room for surfing forums n FB. cant be that bad leh... sob sob

  3 years is not old lah.

  dont tell me laptop age is calculated like that of a dog's age....

  not that im doing office work on it. abit slow nvrmind but not sluggish can liao..

  could be due to ram.

  if not, try to uninstall applications which are not required.

  try using spybot, it is quite useful in detecting spywares.

  At most computer can live up to 5 years or sometimes more. Aiya try reformating? Maybe upgrade ram?

  When you are in Task Manager, did u see which process is the one that is taking up all the cpu resources??

  Btw, don't bother with AVG.

  Go download a trial version (not crack version) of Kaspersky antivirus from www.kaspersky.com and run it. It will usually clear up most things. If Kaspersky cannot clear then most likely no one can help u already.
