Ok technicians came about a few days after my post and "fixed" my problem which they changed some of the splitters and cabling and check the signal if there was any degredation which there wasnt when they finished.
The defination being fixed was the connection was back and i could surf and download stuff. BUT since i play online on my PS3, i've been unable to sustain a constant connection when i host games for Call Of Duty 4 with my friends. In short i had lag spikes quite frequently. But in the end my friend hosts games since then so i dont complain much.
Then Yesterday morning i woke up found i cant surf web so i thought maybe its a one off thing which i left home and came back evening and find my connection to be "LAG". Basically the same problem as before but it comes and goes when it likes all day and night. Calling starhub again and reiterating that their TECHNICIANS fixed my side and the problem cant be with me but as usual they treated me like i dont know my own connection and computer.
After countless calls they relented and sending over another techician tomorrow.
I am seriously pissed off that they cant expand their bandwith until bottlenecks then they upgrade their hardware. Then users like me suffer!
Than you sia suay lor. Take Singnet! Its FTW!
I still have 1yr + contract left with them...
In either case i rather suffer lag then have a govt owned ISP keep track of everything you do online.
So both also in the end is FTL for us and FTW for them pocketing our money

everytime play game until like 1045pm or 11pm start to lag until duno what time in the morning. been happening for a few days already... or weeks, can't remember.
I duno until what time cuz i got bored trying to game with extreme spikes that I went to sleep.
Like i said starhub share. So depends how many people using the internet. Like uploading or downloading

There are 5 ppl hogging my line.
Its the Router Problem. Its not protected at all, This allows many ppl to hog, Then u hong gan liao. Can slow till smash the keyboard.
i used to like starhub max online. its so simple and easy to set up.
unfortunately, it always lag especially at night and i am only free
at night to surf the net. so it is unacceptable. call and complain
also useless. in the end i switch ISP and that is the only solution.
Yep, the only solution is to change to Singnet, the best part is you can watch MIO TV free especially the football Serie A games. Too bad, still got 6 more mths of contract to go.
Starhub is soo terrible, enuff is enuff.

wah starhub got so bad =.= lucky didn't change to starhub singnet user for 9 year since the lanch the first modem 56kb/s now 3.5mb/s working dam fast host game doesn't lag or spike.
Starhub users in upp boon keng area, mind telling me if the bandwidth is bottleneck-ed like in the west area as well..? Coz I was thinking of switching to Starhub internet..
My monthly bill has been rocketing ever since I hook up with MIO plan, the mobile part keeps chalking up the most amount of money even though it's very low usage every single month..

My problems with starhub internet exist everyday. It can happen any time in the day and night.

The problems will not go away even they came to fix it. I am still having my prob.
The main problem is starhub does not really put in heart and soul to provide good service.
So just don't continue your contract with them.
They claim it is 2 mb for the internet but it is slower than 1mb from singtel.
download speeds are bottle necked.

I suggest STarhub close shop to provide internet service. REally, they cannot make it. Be it land line or mobile broadband, they don't give good and efficient service. I am being asked for the same info over and over again but in the end my prob not solved. REcently, I just told the staff off for repeating questioning of the same info.
Through my encounters with them, I know they care more about cost saving than providing good and efficient service. My new digital box - I used it for only 3 to 4 months stop functioning and I gotta bring it down for service. Initially when I was using the digital box, it gave me prob after less than 24 hrs of using it.
I give up on STarhub. Will not continue my internet contract with them.
Please, people, tell others not to use starhub to avoid problems.
