How to reduce the fan noise?
Just bought a new PC
Intel Core i7-920
Gigabyte i7 X58UD3R
Display Card = 9400GT 1GB
PSU = OCZ 700W
Casing = Asus Vento
I found that the fan are pretty noisy(don't know which fan), how to solve this problem?
Lowering the fan speed by using Ntune since is nvidia. Google Ntune. Usually is gfx fan but some cases its the cpu itself. Warning. Don turn down the fan speed way too low might fry your gfx.

The i7 fans are usually quiet, the 9400GT doesn't have a huge monster fan like the ATi HD4870 or GTX295. Think should be be i7 fan, cause I use Q6600 Overclocked + 9500GS, only noisy when fan was speeded up to 70%. Since your mobo chipset is Intel, did they give you Fan Control utility? Cause I use nTune on NVidia mobo, and I cant set the fan speed.
OT: Why 9400GT?

If that was a regular board, I would suggest removing the grahics card to see if that was the problem, but cannot, so open the casing and listen.

Gigabyte 9500GT no stock, so go for 9400GT, just for temporary use.
Waiting for the next PC show, later get a better gaming card like 4870 1GB.
Fan Control utility, not sure, will go check later.
btw, reduce the fan speed will fry the mobo?

Will not fry mobo. If fan speed too low, will fry your i7, not mobo.
But If I remember correctly, if the i7 gets too hot, it will slow it self down until it becomes cool enough.
They mustn't forgot about the safety of all this new things that they made.
It might be the case fan. Some of my customers complain that some casing rear exhaust fan is noisy
percussive maintenance usually works
well, fan noise as in a result from the fan running at a high speed, therefore creating motor and wind noise under load, or is it weird grinding noises that the fan is making? if its the first then its pretty much ok.. if its the second, then your fan is on the way to failure..
