hi, im currently registered with singnet, and was given the 2wire 2700HG modem/wlan router.
i wanted to change the encryption method from the original WEP open to a WPA-PSK, which i did yesterday via the direct modem portal, http://gateway.2wire.net
after which, i was unable to access the internet. under the network connections tab in windows, i have changed the connection settings saved for my modem "2wire503", from the previous WEP setting i saved, to a WPA personal, and the encryption is of the TKIP type.
i was able to connect to the router, but am unable to connect to the internet, even though the status lights on the modem show that my DSL is connected and working fine, and that i am connected to the internet.
on windows, it tells me that i am "connected with limited or no access".
i am unable to get back to the modem portal page and reset the settings
simply cuz i lost the connection -.-
i am using 32bit windows vista home premium, build 6000.
help pls thanks
got hard reset behind modem? The 1 that requires you to take something very thin, Poke and hold for 10 sec i think?
Why you so itchy hand?! Default settings not secure enough? Reminds me of the time I locked my own SIM card out. Coz I was so itchy hand to change the security PIN.
ive poked and held, effect is similar to that of turning the power on and off.
"connected with limited or no access" means it cannot automatically get an ip address from the router.
one way is to use a lan cable to connect to the modem directly so that you can configure the modem.
Since you can connect to the router but just cannot be assigned an ip address, just manually key in your ip address and gateway. Then try go internet.
its ok now guys, the problem has been solved, thanks :)
