Asus eeepc does not come with an optical drive and I do not have an optical drive.
How to install Microsoft office 2007, Mcafee Internet Security 2009 and other
softwares into asus eepc without the use of an optical drive.
I intend to buy Asus eeepc 1000h or 901 (3.75G) and these netbooks do not come
with an optical drive.
Thanks.
PS : Appreciate it very much if anyone could share his or her experience in using
asus eeepc1000h or 901(3.75G) netbook.
The only way is to get a USB pooowered external DVD drive, insert the CD into the drive, hook it up using usb.
alternatively. use another computer to copy the software to a portable hard disk and install from there.
That is where a huge capacity thumbdrive comes in. You are just pushing the limits with an 8gb one, go for the 16.
If there is one thing you should know about the eee pc, the usb port drivers isn't exactly the latest, so you might not get the highest transfer speeds. I should know as I have read up on it previously, and been cautioned to use the sd card slot instead for optimum speeds. I have a netbook as well, but its an msi wind model, legally overclocked, ok so it works only when its plugged in.
A simple method i used was to download the software online. Then use the legal cd key to activate the product.
