I just bought my com and installed photoshop cs4 trial on it. however, when i try to create a new file, it says my scratch disk is full? how can it be when there is virtually nothing else on my com now? the com is macintosh, so hopefully anyone who knows how to use mac + photoshop can teach me how to solve this problem? im new to mac too =(
change your scratch disk settings to another part of the computer.
what is scratch disk? i even had trouble finding the internet on mac.. previously a windows user =(.. n i need this photoshop thing urgently for project submission
scratch disk is like RAM for photoshop
sorry..if u dont mind, could u tell me step by step what i should do? =x
click photoshop, preference, performance
"let photoshop use XXXX MB"
how big is the canvas that you are trying to start?
is it a banner? if it is, change to 72dpi
currently my ram is 3072mb. and the preset is 'let photoshop use use 2150mb'. history states: 20, cache levels: 4. should i change any of the above?
one more thing..i think this may be the problem..i try to create a file that is 594 x 841cm, with 300 pixels/ cm..is that why i cant create the file? how many pixels is sufficient for a good print out?
anyway i got to go... thanks for ur help kopiosatu.
i let photoshop use 70%
you are making a banner.
banner prints are 72dpi, photo prints are 300dpi. if u are making a backdrop or banner, 72 is enough, even if u are using a photo to post online, 72 is enough.
