4GB Ram only show 3.2GB in system

  i'm using AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5600+ 2.90Ghz

  32-bit OS but dunno why my ram only show 3327mb yet i install 4gb ram

  i'm using Windows Vista Ultimate

  If using windows xp 32 bit , ram read 3.2ghz is normal bcos of 32 bits os limit but it still run 4 ghz ram speed. unless is 64 bits.

  Vista 32 bits or 64bits  Ram 4ghz will still the same.

  A limitation of 32-bit systems is the ability to address on up to 3.25-3.5GB of RAM. 64-bit systems do not have this limitation. If i remember correctly, Microsoft released a patch so that 4GB of RAM can be 'seen' on 32-bit systems.

  He use wrong term liao. Now got RAM at 4GHz meh? Havent even break 2GHz. 

  32-bit systems can address up to 4GB of RAM.

  64-bit systems have limits far beyond (I think like, 128 exabytes?) but usually have a limit imposed sice it is impossible for you to have that much memory.

   

   

  Memory speed is irrelavant to the Amount of RAM.

  Download microsoft's Vista SP1 patch and it will show,the 4gb of ram you are looking for.

  Patch up via windows update (start, windows update)

  By now, you should have SP1, if you dont, it check if your drivers are running the latest drivers and update them if necessary.

  32bit is 4GB.

  64bit is like, 128 EB.

  Aiyo, max 4GB leh for 32bit system. You have 8GB, since you say 4x 2GB. I say dont download patch. I say upgrade to 64bit system.
